Two Rivers Short Story Contest

May is Short Story Month!

Short stories are a fantastic medium for experimentation, both for readers and writers! Anthologies and short fiction magazines are great places for readers to find their new favorite authors. For authors, short stories are a space where they can find their voice, play with new ideas, and take their first steps into the publishing world.

To celebrate this classic format, we’re holding a short story contest, culminating in a public reading on Saturday, May 31st at Two Rivers Bookstore!

Writers are invited to submit a flash fiction story (up to 750 words in length) following the theme, “consequences.” These stories can be fiction in any genre. Writers are limited to one submission, and only previously unpublished work will be accepted.

To submit your work, please visit this Google Form. Submissions open April 1st and the submission deadline is April 30th at 11:59 PM.

10 writers will be chosen to have their work performed at a public reading at Two Rivers Bookstore on May 31st. One winner will be selected for the Grand Prize, and there will be two runners-up! More information on prizes will be shared soon.

We look forward to reading your submissions!
