Icelandic Lopi Blanket

We love Icelandic Lopi wool and their popular iconic woven blankets have been hard to come by but are back in the US!

These beautiful, classic fringed throws are made from 100% Icelandic wool and showcase everything we love about this amazing fiber. Each one is extremely durable, lightweight, breathable, warm and make perfect gifts. The outside layer is hydrophobic and combed after weaving to make it soft. Please note: Jokalblami, Skurasky, Pufa and Ro styles are woven in a basketweave style and not combed.

Icelanders know better than to count on agreeable weather. They always prepare for an adventure. They know that if you’re warm, you always have a good time. Rain or shine, volcanic eruption or not.

The wool
The Icelandic wool has been crucial to the survival of our nation as it provided both warmth and protection throughout centuries of harsh weather. It is also quite unique compared to wool of other sheep breeds. The inner fibers are fine, soft and highly insulating while the outer fibers are long, glossy and water repellent. Therefore products made of Icelandic wool are extremely durable, lightweight and breathable.

Styles available are Land, Floi, Aegisioa, Fletta, Fuglar, Mjoll, Kaflaskipti, Tonar, Hestar, Hum, Lon, Vetrarhiminn, Blom, Bot, Utilega, Vinnkill, Fjarski.

All blankets are approximately 130 x 200 cm ( 51 x 79 in ) except: Hestar (55x83 in), Blom, Fjarksi, Jolarski (51x71 in), Jokalblami, Skurasky, Pufa and Ro (43x67 in). All are made of 100% pure Icelandic Wool.
