Next Level Knitting: Customizing Sweater Patterns

When: Sunday, January 11th and 25th, 4:00-6:00pm
Where: In Person at Weird Sisters
Level: This is an intermediate to advanced knitting class. Student should be comfortable knitting in the round, reading patterns and have some experience with garment knitting.
Class Description:
Ready to take your wearable knits to the next level? Celeste will guide you on gauging, sizing, fit, yarn substitutions and pattern customizations to help you be your own best knitwear designer. In this workshop we will discuss common fitting and finishing issues and how to adjust for them according to your fabric and your body.
Please come to class prepared with one or more of the following:
- A pattern you want to make with your swatch and/or yarn ready to gauge.
- A WIP and notes on what you may be wanting to adjust regarding fit of the final garment.
- A finished garment whose fit you are unhappy with and the yarn (if still on hand) to discuss our options on optimizing fit.
Additional Materials: darning needles, crochet hook, flexible tape measure (if you would like help measuring for fit, please wear a close fitting undershirt for accurate measuring), optional: a finished garment (store bought ok,) whose fit you love and may want to duplicate.

Class Minimum: 3 students
Class Maximum: 8 students

Class Policy: This class requires a minimum of 3 students. Notification of cancellation will be sent within 3 days before class start time if the minimum is not met. In the case of shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. Any additional fees including materials and shipping will not be refunded. Student cancellations are not refundable. Store Credit or class transfers may be issued for student cancellations up to 7 days before class start date. After that, no transfers, refunds or store credits will be issued. Missed classes or no-shows can not be refunded, exchanged or transferred.
Covid Policy: Masks are currently optional but encouraged. Please bring your own mask. Please do not attend class if you are not feeling well or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of class start time.
