Skill Level: Advanced beginner, student should know how to knit in the round. No colorwork experience required.

Class Description:

Learn Stranded colorwork in this introductory colorwork hat class! We will be covering ways to knit with two colors, tips for tensioning, reading charts, color dominance and more helpful tips from Celeste! Choose from 3 different colorwork hats, the Embers, Banff or Cartography, all designed by Tin Can Knits and available to purchase separately from their Ravelry or website. All students must purchase their own pattern copy.

Materials Required: 

Yarn

Embers Hat: We suggest 1 skein Schoppel Zauberball Crazy (sold instore only) and 1 skein of Kelbourne Woolens Scout.

Cartography Hat: We suggest Brown Sheep Prairie Spun DK in 2 colors.

Banff Hat: We suggest Kelbourne Woolens Lucky Tweed in 2 colors.

Needles

Embers or Cartography Hat: 16” US 4 circular needle and size US 6 in either a 36” or longer circular for Magic Loop or Double Pointed Needles if you don’t want to use Magic Loop. 

Banff Hat: 16” US 6 circular needle and size US 8 in either a 36” or longer circular for Magic Loop or Double Pointed Needles if you don’t want to use Magic Loop.

Pattern
The three patterns, Ember, Cartography and Banff, are sold separately and available for purchase on Tin Can Knits or Ravelry.

Class Minimum: 5 students

Class Maximum: 8 students

Class Policy: This class requires a minimum of 5 students. Notification of cancellation will be sent within 3 days before class start time if the minimum is not met. In the case of shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. Any additional fees including materials and shipping will not be refunded. Student cancellations are not refundable. Store Credit or class transfers may be issued for student cancellations up to 3 days before class start date. After that, no transfers, refunds or store credits will be issued. Missed classes or no-shows can not be refunded, exchanged or transferred.

Covid Policy: Masks are currently optional but encouraged. Please bring your own mask. Please do not attend class if you are not feeling well or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of class start time.
