A cozy romantic fantasy novel for fans of Legends and Lattes and Assistant to the Villain, with friends-to-lovers, small-town setting and baby dragons

This friendship is going up in flames...

Lavinia has almost everything she wants in life. She has the perfect side hustle, working part-time at the Baby Dragon Café. She’s at school for the perfect career, to be a vet for magical animals. And she has the ideal best friend, Theo, the baker at the local patisserie open to baby dragons and their humans. The only thing she doesn’t have is Theo as her boyfriend. Lavinia’s been in love with Theo since they first met. Whenever she sees him at the bakery, being so kind to the baby dragons who fly around setting his baking equipment on fire, her heart can’t help but flutter. But when she finally works up the courage to plant a kiss on him, his reaction isas cold as ice, not the flames she was expecting. Sent into a tail-spin of emotions, Lavinia blurts out that she didn’t mean the kiss! She was just looking to make Theo’s coworker jealous, and so Theo offers to help make them fall in love. Lavinia can’t see any way out of the situation. She has to agree, and so begins Theo’s plan to set them up.

There’s only one problem: Theo’s secretly in love with her too.

Aamna Qureshi is a Pakistani, Muslim American who adores words. She is the award-winning author of YA fantasy novel, The Lady or the Lion and its sequel.

Aamna grew up on Long Island, New York, in a very loud household, surrounded by English (for school), Urdu (for conversation), and Punjabi (for emotion). Much of her childhood was spent being grounded for reading past her bed-time, writing stories in the backs of her notebooks, and being scolded by teachers for passing chapters under the tables. Through her writing, she wishes to inspire a love for the beautiful country and rich culture that informed much of her identity.

When she's not writing, she loves to travel to new places where she can explore different cultures or to Pakistan where she can revitalize her roots. She also loves baking complicated desserts, drinking fancy teas and coffees, watching sappy rom-coms, and going for walks about the estate (her backyard). She currently lives in New York.
