First Sweater Class: Felix Pullover

When: Thursdays, Sept 11, 18 and Oct 2 from 6:30-8:00pm
Where: In Person at Weird Sisters
Level: Student should be comfortable knitting and purling, knitting in the round and reading patterns.
Class Description:
Learn to knit a simple top down seamless raglan sweater! This class will cover step by step how to select your size, construct your sweater, how to customize fit and finishing and care tips. Celeste has been teaching knitting for 15+ years and will help you every step of the way.
Techniques covered: Schematic reading, basic fit customizations, raglan construction, neckline cast-ons, short rows, increases and eyelets, blocking and finishing plus more.
Materials to Bring (from Pattern):
- Yarn (yardage may vary based on your selected size and gauge): 650-1050 yards Aran weight yarn; we suggest Kelbourne Woolens Lucky Tweed (pictured on Tegan), Brown Sheep Harborside or Istex Lettlopi.
- Needles (sizes may vary, be sure to swatch and use the needles required for you to get pattern gauge):
- US 10/6mm circular 16” and 24” or longer for body and either 32" or longer for magic loop or a set of 4 or 5 DPNs for sleeves.
- US 8/5mm circular 16” and 24” or longer for neckline and hem and either 32" or longer for magic loop or a set of 4 or 5 DPNs for sleeve cuffs.
- Optional - US 5/3.75mm circular or straight for tubular cast on.
- Notions: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Purchase a copy of the Felix Pullover. With selected yarn and needles, follow instructions for swatching to get gauge.

21 (23, 24, 26, 27)” from right front cast on to right neck edge.
Shown in size 43 1/3, worn with 7” of positive ease.
Selecting the correct amount of ease is very personal, Celeste can help you decide which size is the best for you based on your personal measurements and fit preferences. A range between 2 to 10” of ease is suggested for this garment.
GAUGE
14 stitches x 20 rows = 4” in Stockinette stitch on larger needles
Adjust needle size to obtain gauge; Gauge is critical! Let us know if you need assistance creating your swatch prior to class.

Class Policy: This class requires a minimum of 3 students. Notification of cancellation will be sent within 3 days before class start time if the minimum is not met. In the case of shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. Any additional fees including materials and shipping will not be refunded. Student cancellations are not refundable. Store Credit or class transfers may be issued for student cancellations up to 7 days before class start date. After that, no transfers, refunds or store credits will be issued. Missed classes or no-shows can not be refunded, exchanged or transferred.
Covid Policy: Masks are currently optional but encouraged. Please bring your own mask. Please do not attend class if you are not feeling well or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of class start time.
