Class Description:
Learn to embroider in this beginner class with Amy L. Frazer. We’ll cover everything from preparing your thread, to hoop and fabric prep, picking the right needle and of course learn 8 stitches and variations. This class will come with everything you need to get started. No experience required.
All materials are included. Each student will receive a rainbow sampler pattern printed on cotton fabric, 2 needles, 6” hoop, DMC 6 strand thread and instruction booklet.
This is a great class for beginners or if you need a refresher course to get back into embroidery.
This 2.5-hour workshop includes:
- An overview and demonstrations of 8 of my favorite basics (back stitch, straight stitch, running stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, French knots, satin stitch, fly stitch, couching and a few variations)
- An embroidery kit with everything you need to get started
- Examples of the stitches used in my work
- A demonstration of how you can frame or display your finished sampler
- Extra threads you can try out and scissors. Feel free to bring your own scissors or any other threads you’d like.
